The Inside Scoop

In North Beach, Jitney's Bar & Grill hours have changed to Thursday through Saturday for dinner only. Scoop nosed around and discovered that owner Jeff Neustadt, founder and CEO of Taxi's Hamburgers, has put Jitney's up for sale online through Steve Zimmerman's Restaurant Realty Co. for $795,000.

Jitney's debuted last September. According to some of its neighbors, it just didn't seem to take off. The prominent corner space (501 Broadway, at Kearny) formerly housed the Black Cat.
