Kevin Mathews is a results-oriented hospitality and service professional with over 15 years of experience managing daily operations of successful high-volume restaurants, bars and large-scale hotel event operations. Kevin has deep experience overseeing all areas of operations including talent acquisitions and management, vendor coordination, food and beverage procurement, sales and marketing, menu engineering, generating and optimizing profitability, controlling labor, maintaining employee morale and ensuring that the guest experience is unique and memorable.
After bartending and barbacking, earning his place, Kevin was promoted as General Manager of a high volume Bar & Grill in Chicago at the age of 23 where he eventually oversaw a seven figure renovation and expansion. Kevin's experience includes high profile properties managed by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants where he served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the largest property in the portfolio and eventually relocated to California after being promoted to Director of Food and Beverage with a Kimpton property in Santa Barbara. Additionally, Kevin worked for Hyatt Hotels as Senior Food & Beverage Manager overseeing the launch of 5 unique restaurant concepts within 2 new luxury hotels. Most recently, he has managed full cycle recruiting for a high end, prominent resort in Newport Beach. Kevin has experience owning and operating several investment properties giving further insight to further strengthen his ability to assist sellers.
Kevin has certifications from Michigan State University in the business of hospitality operations, management and leadership. Kevin currently resides in the San Diego area with his wife Kelly and their two dogs.
