sliderbarSliderBar is a modern casual restaurant concept developed Ashwani Dhawan, a 30 year veteran Silicon Valley Entrepreneur with significant technology and restaurant insight and experience. Ashwani has been involved in leadership roles with four different software startups and two different restaurant concepts. Ashwani has worked in engineering development and management roles with GE and IBM, has been involved with starting and running engineering organizations for the following startups –, Centrata, TellnGo and Sorata.

In 2006, Ashwani changed course and delved into his true passion for food and founded a new innovative Indo-California restaurant concept called Mantra in Palo Alto California. Mantra was named as one of the top 100 Bay Area Restaurants in 2007 as well as a Michelin recommended restaurant in 2007. In 2010, Ashwani developed a new American Small Foods concept based on gourmet sliders and opened the first SliderBar in Palo Alto. SliderBar is a modern neighborhood sports bar that features a broad variety of Sliders and Craft Beers.

In 2012, Ashwani brought the concept to San Francisco and opened the 2nd SliderBar restaurant in iconic Castro/Upper market district. Restaurant Realty was pleased to work with Ashwani in his first restaurant venture Mantra in Palo Alto as well as his most recent third Sliderbar location at 2124 Center Street, Berkeley which he’ll be opening up shortly.
