Ventura, once considered a “sleepy village”, with its cultural offerings and easy beach access, is growing fast.
Operators Wendy Collings and her son Alex had done a great job on building the business from scratch and turning its 4,000 square feet into a money making machine. Previously Wendy operated a restaurant in Valencia. She owns the property but has decided to hold onto it for now as an investment. Interest was strong out of the gate on the listing. Numerous restaurateurs were interested, including members of a family that have operated a well-known eatery in the area. A buyer who had owned a Mediterranean restaurant made a deposit and signed contracts, but wasn’t able to secure the financing required.
Another buyer, Phillip Chao, an experienced restaurant operator whose family has been in the business for decades, loved what he saw in Danny’s menu, its low staff turnover, seating capacity and especially the financials, and quickly moved to purchase it. Phillip was an ideal buyer with excellent credit, funds, integrity and an eagerness to learn.
