An upscale Downtown Modesto restaurant and bar, Fuzio is known for incredible food (lunch/dinner), delicious cocktails (happy hour spot), and the best outdoor dining in town.
Restaurant Realty’s Tamas Torok recently handled the sale of Fuzio Universal Bistro in Modesto which closed escrow August 25, 2022. Tamas represented both the seller and buyer in this transaction. This restaurant was the last remaining one of the once popular Fuzio chain developed in 2000, and owned by a Taco Bell’s sister company, Fresh Mex.
Thomas Lopez, the seller, was part of Fuzio for 22 years – first as a General Manager and later as an owner.
Thomas and David Olson who was the president of Fresh Mex chain, bought the store in 2014 and operated it, as an independent business.
Thomas and his wife Gina were hands on owner operators and were at the store daily and ran the restaurant very professionally. The store was very profitable and generated sales in excess of $2 million annually. The Sellers are relocating to Montana in the near future.
The buyer is Dimitri Dritsas who is a local businessman and mortgage broker and he plans to expand the business.
