Napoli Pizzeria & Italian Food
Vallejo

Steve Zimmerman had the opportunity of recently selling Napoli Pizzeria & Italian Food in Vallejo and represented both the sellers Antonio Guerrera Jr., the managing partner and his brothers Chris, Michael and Daniel as well as representing the buyer, Steve Fagalde.

Antonio Guerrera Senior bought the business in November 1968. Before that he was working at a gas station. He was driving through Vallejo and learned that the pizzeria was for sale so he and his brother Joe made a bid and they purchased the business.  Anthony Guerrera Jr who was the primary person I dealt with in selling the business grew up in the business as a child and teenager. After receiving a degree from UC Davis in Geologic Sciences he practiced in that field for 5 years. In 1999 he began working on Saturdays at the business again and after a year he was hooked on the business and resigned his Geology position and began working full time in September 2000.  Simultaneously he was taking winemaking course work at Napa Valley College.  He did an internship for a well-known Cabernet winery in 2003 and he enjoyed this field. Consequently, Antonio’s next career will be that of a wine maker. Since 1998 Antonio’s brother Chris owns and operates the Napoli Pizzeria in Benicia and Antonio’s brother Michael, has owned, and operated the Napoli Pizzeria in Vacaville since 2000

Napoli Pizzeria has been a Vallejo favorite since 1956. Customers come from the Vallejo Ferry, Marine World Theme Park, live downtown or near the waterfront, live or work on Mare Island, or have been a Vallejo resident for generations. Napoli Pizzeria meets the customers Italian food cravings and the menu serves up award-winning, hand-tossed pizzas cooked in well-seasoned, brick deck ovens and homemade pasta and sauces. The pizzas are prepared before the customers eyes while the customers relax in the comfortable pizza-parlor setting.

I have had the pleasure of working with Steve Fagalde, the buyer, over the past years. Steve was formerly the president and a partner in Scott’s Seafood with restaurants in Jack London Square in Oakland and in Downtown Walnut Creek as well as running the food service operations at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville from 1997 to 2014. Steve also an extensive experience as a managing partner in various commercial real estate projects. I also worked with Steve in selling the Discovery Bay Sports Bar & Steakhouse for him a couple of years ago. Steve is a real professional restaurateur and will run the operation similarly while making some improvements by continuing the almost 70-year Napoli tradition of excellence.

RRC wishes Antonio much success in his new career and continued success to his brothers in their business operations as well. We also wish Steve much success in his new business which I am confident will continue to be a well sought after tradition for many years in the future.
