Steve Zimmerman recently sold the building at 855-857 4th Street in downtown San Rafael. The building consists of two stories with a restaurant on the ground floor and a totally remodeled four-bedroom three bath unit upstairs. The restaurant has been largely remodeled and the tenant for the restaurant will be Bay Thai who will complete the remodeling and open shortly.
Bay Thai is owned by Manivone Vongsouthi and she has been in business a few doors down from the new space on 4th Street since 1996 in a much smaller facility. Her success and goodwill are a natural for her to move into a larger space where she’ll be able to transfer her customer base and expand it at this much improved facility. Some of her menu items include specialties such as yellow, red and green curry dishes, spicy eggplant, pad Thai, and pra ram pad. Her menu also includes a large selection of seafood items and a large number of chicken, beef and pork dishes was well as appetizers and salads. The customer comments on social media are by and large excellent.
The building was recently purchased by Chainwatt Siriyarn & Muaynee May Siriyarn as an investment property who owns and operates two Marnee Thai restaurants in San Francisco (2225 Irving St and 1243 9th Ave) and has been in business since 1986. Marnee Thai has the reputation of being one of the top Thai restaurants in San Francisco.
