Rok Steakhouse, San Jose
In 2001, Steve Wright was in Zimbabwe, Africa and ate on a hot rock for the very first time. It was then that Steve felt the experience of cooking steak on a stone was so unique and inspiring that he left Africa determined to bring this concept to America.

Two years later, Steve began selling rock cooking systems to restaurants all over the world. In 2014 Steve Wright and his partner Doug Quist opened Rok Steakhouse at 4130 N 1st Street, San Jose near Levi Stadium as they discovered the deliciousness of eating meat cooked on a 700 degree stone rock. With Rok, they re-created again and again that original thrill Steve got when he experienced his first bites of stone-cooked meats. On a 700 degree volcanic rock they cook an assortment of Certified Angus Beef brand steaks ranging from Filet Mignon, Hanger, New York Strip, Wagyu New York and Rib Eye as well as Pork Chops, Pacific Ahi, Shrimps & Scallops, Chicken Breast and MahiMahi. Additionally the menu features an assortment of starters, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and wraps as well as an assortment of sautes and delicious desserts. They also have gluten free and vegetarian items. They have a large outdoor seating area in addition to their well designed interior dining and bar areas and they also feature take out and delivery items. Steve Zimmerman had the pleasure of representing Steve Wright and Doug Quist, the Sellers as well as Shiraz Jivani, the Buyer in selling the restaurant in November. Shiraz is a very experienced entrepreneur having owned numerous successful restaurants in the bay areas as well as owning Indian theaters and hosting a radio show for over 20 years as well as hosting an TV show for 12 years.

We wish Steve and Doug continued success in their future endeavors and wish Shiraz much success in his new venture.
