Steve Zimmerman sold Star Restaurant in Novato to the Sellers Syavash (Shawn) Alaee, the managing partner and his brother Shahpour Alaie, his investment partner in October 2007.
Nearly 16 years later Steve sold the restaurant again representing Syavash and Shahpour the sellers as well as representing the buyers Diana Florian and her husband Abdias Quevedo which closed escrow on 5/1/23. Diana worked for several years at the Cheesecake Factory in Corte Madera in the preparation and kitchen areas and she also worked at the Sol Food restaurant in San Rafael helping managers in various stations in the restaurant as well as helped train new employees.
Prior to coming to the US she operated a lunch and dinner operation in Guatemala and also owned and managed a grocery store in Guatemala. Diana plans to clean up the store and continue to serve the delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner selections that Star has been famous for over 20 years. The buyers are local Novato residents will continue to focus on the local Novato market. Diana’s husband partnered with an associate and has a successful construction company and with his expertise they will be making some improvements to the restaurant.
We wish Shawn and Shahpour much success in their future endeavors and wish Diana and Abdias continued success in their new restaurant venture.
