The restaurant was known as Passeretti’s Italian restaurant for 32 years, 1983 – 2015. A South Lake Tahoe Icon and at that time, Jeff Sparrow, an accomplished Caterer and Restaurateur, was looking for a new home to expand his excellent reputation and catering expertise.

In 2015, Jeff purchased the business with real estate for $775,000. After 9 months of major renovations taking the building right down to the studs and rebuilding as an upscale dining house with a completely newly designed kitchen, dining room and bar, the Lake House was born.

With 4.5 stars on Yelp, renowned for the very best quality of food and service, the restaurant quickly rose to become one of the top eateries in the basin.

Following the struggles of 2 years of Pandemic, Jeff called Keith Simpson of Restaurant Realty and whom he had known well from the past and whom he had purchased the restaurant in 2015 along with fellow Broker Scott Fair of Nai Real Estate. Keith and Scott work as a team in Tahoe when there is a restaurant business with real estate and jointly they promoted the sale in 2021.

By February 2022, local restaurant owner, Luca Genasci, owner of two local Tahoe restaurants, was successful in his bid to purchase both the restaurant business and real estate for $1.6 million.

The Lake House will continue with the same upscale concept with only minor changes to the menu. A facelift is currently underway to add a large outdoor patio at the front in readiness for the busy summer season.
